Hospice UK CEO, Tracey Bleakley said: "The additional £8bn in funding to help the NHS tackle the delays in people getting elective care is welcome - but it won't immediately deal with the immense pressures in other parts of the health and care system.
"Delays and overload in the NHS is leading to more people having complex needs at the end of life, where hospice and other services are under huge strain. Today's Budget won't help those people.
"It's vital that Government support for end of life care matches the need that hospice staff are witnessing right now on the frontline.
"These services, which still rely heavily on bake sales and charity shops, desperately need a sustainable funding solution just as much as the NHS does."
