Hospice UK’s partnership with the Masonic Charitable Foundation (MCF), that delivers grants to hospices across England and Wales to support thousands of people across the UK, heads into its fourth year.
The new wave of grants will make a significant impact on hospice care, funding further innovative ideas and continuing to help those affected by life-limiting illness. The partnership which began in 2018 has awarded 61 grants worth more than £1.3m to hospices across England and Wales.
Hospice UK’s Head of Grants, Karl Benn said: “Our partnership with the Masonic Charitable Foundation works incredibly well, and has proved to be really successful.
“With the combination of this generous funding and our expert sector knowledge, this partnership has created important grant programmes that support bereavement care, improved equality and continue to help hospice care develop, especially following the challenges of COVID.”
Hospice UK and the MCF offer grants to fund meaningful change within the hospice sector, with the next wave of grants seeking to help hospices re-open or start day care services to serve their communities.
Chief Executive of the Masonic Charitable Foundation, Les Hutchinson said: “The partnership between the Masonic Charitable Foundation and Hospice UK is a great example of the charitable work in which Freemasons are involved.
“It’s helped many thousands of people in hospices right across England and Wales and we look forward to continuing this rewarding relationship in the future.”
Current MCF and Hospice UK grants programmes work with homeless, LGBTQIA+ and black and ethnic minority communities to improve access to end of life care or support.
The partnership began when the MCF made a commitment to support the most pressing and emergent issues facing the hospice sector. Offering grants up to £35,000, the partnership is available to support projects that will have a significant and lasting impact on communities across England and Wales.
The current programme is open for application now. Full details and how to apply, including an application form, are on the grants section of Hospice UK’s website.
The deadline for applications is 14 February 2022.
