PwC building lit up for Go Yellow 2019

PwC

In July 2020 Hospice UK were selected as one of The PwC Foundation’s national fundraising partners 2020-2023, which has been extended a year to mitigate the impact of Covid-19.

Since we began working together, PwC have donated over £250,000 to Hospice UK. Colleagues have raised vital funds for hospice care through a variety of different fundraising initiatives, especially during their annual day of fundraising and volunteering 'One Firm One Day'.

PwC colleagues have also been using their skills to support end of life care in the UK by providing pro bono support to both Hospice UK and our member hospices.

Our partnership also aims to raise awareness of key issues facing the hospice sector. PwC have been involved in our key campaigns including Hospice Care Week and Dying Matters Awareness Week. We were delighted when the Embankment Place office lit up yellow in support of hospice care!

In 2021, The Co-operative Bank provided additional support to Hospice UK in response to our Covid-19 Emergency Appeal. The Bank donated an incredible £75,000 which helped us secure vital government funding and PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) for over 200 hospices on the frontline.

The Co-operative Bank also made a donation of £10,000 to the Greater Manchester Hospice initiative which enabled 10 hospices local to the Bank’s HQ in Manchester to purchase technology to keep families connected during lockdown.

Writing a will is one of the most important parts of planning for the end of life. By making a will you can express your final wishes and decide what you would like to leave your family and friends. Other important things to consider that you might need to arrange include lasting power of attorney, trusts, appointing an executor, and nominating guardians for children under 18.

The Co-operative Bank have partnered with Co-op Legal Services to provide their customers quality, easy to understand legal advice, including probate and estate administration if you are dealing with the affairs of someone who has died. They have a collection of free articles to help customers understand which services are right for them and their circumstances and the option to pay for additional legal advice if needed.

For more information visit The Co-operative Bank website.

The Co-operative Bank will be donating a proportion of any commission received via their partnership with Co-op Legal Services to Hospice UK, with a minimum commitment of £25,000 this year.
