Yesterday (28 April) the Scottish Government announced that all consequential funding due to Scotland for hospices will be passed to the front line.

In response, our CEO Tracey Bleakley says:

"Hospice UK is delighted that the Cabinet Secretary for Health and Sport has confirmed that all consequential funding due to Scotland for hospices will be passed to the front line.

"This money, expected to be £19million, will have a profoundly positive impact in helping hospices to continue delivering services and support health and social care partners in Scotland’s collective response to COVID-19.

"We look forward to working closely with Scottish Government and hospices to deliver on this commitment so that people can continue to receive the level of quality and compassionate palliative and end of life care that we need in Scotland, especially at such an uncertain time."
