In 2023, several members of the Major Grants Committee stepped down, having come to the end of their terms of office.  We are now recruiting replacement members.

What we are looking for

We are interested in recruiting the following job/roles from member hospices:

  • Chief Executive
  • Trustee
  • Income Generation Director
  • Director of Nursing

We would be interested in at least one of the new Committee members being from a hospice based in Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland.

What is expected

The Committee meets to allocate grants from a range of programmes, including St. James’s Place Charitable Foundation, Masonic Charitable Foundation, Rank Foundation and the Linder Foundation. 

Meetings are held approx three times a year at various locations, travel costs are reimbursed.

In addition to attending meetings you will need to commit time to read through papers and assess applications before meetings.  Strong analytical and assessment skills are necessary.

The next meetings are likely to be held in February and March 2024, exact dates are still TBC.

Appointment to the Committee is for four years with the option to renew for a further four years, subject to agreement from both parties.
